Watched that the other day. Oscar Isaac was pretty good. The story was kinda dumb. No real reason for Isaac's character to do what he did. Lots of too long somber moments. Got a kick out of the USA USA USA guy who kept winning at poker. "Why does he do that? He's from Ukraine."

Yeah he did a nice job but that story was ridiculous.

The Last Duel was pretty solid. Best Ridley Scott movie in a while.

Watched it today, thought it was excellent. Ben Affleck deserves an Oscar nomination.

I understand the desire to film “It” in two parts with Chapter 1 focusing on the kids and Chapter 2 on the adults, but I do think it would have worked better if they had interweaved the two narratives as King did. The reason I say that, principally, is that the danger posed to the children creates such a higher visceral reaction to the adult audience.

Chapter One was fucking terrifying because they were killing kids and and the main group of kids was in danger of evisceration at any given point.

Chapter Two was scary and well done, but they were no longer kids. No one was as scared for a 40-year-old asthmatic as they were for the 10-year-old version of the same character.

I liked seeing the three points of view. What I didn't need to see was certain scenes on multiple occasions when there was no disagreement over the facts. Unsurprising, yet still shocking how women were viewed and treated back then. The duel scenes were really fun.

“The Lincoln Lawyer.” How the hell did I miss it? It’s a great flick, a great cast, based on a book by one of my favorite writers.

Really enjoyed the Downton Abbey movie - like checking in with old friends and catching up. Just in time for the new one due in March.

Peter Dinklage isn't a fan of the new live action "Snow White".

    https://variety.com/2022/film/news/peter-dinklage-snow-white-remake-1235161936/

"Not everyone is too thrilled with idea of remaking “Snow White,” most notably Peter Dinklage. The Emmy winner guested on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast this week and criticized remaking “Snow White” due to the fairytale’s “fucking backwards” depiction of dwarfs.

“There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on,” Dinklage said. “Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. But you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me.”

Dinklage continued, “You’re progressive in one way but then you’re still making that fucking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the fuck are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I’m not loud enough. I don’t know which studio that is but they were so proud of it. All love and respect to the actress and all the people who thought they were doing the right thing. But I’m just like, what are you doing?”
