Fun listen. I loved watching those. Tour Striker was the only gadget that ever tempted me.

I wonder if they considered contacting crazy Peter Kessler about his Perfect Club. That was the beginning of his decline.

I thought about that too. The problem with talking to Peter Kessler is ... you gotta talk to Peter Kessler.

I profess to not having any idea what the midweek rate sheets were for channels like Golf Channel and SPEED, but if they were getting $125-250/hour for those 30-minute infomericals (or even the constant Vermont Teddy Bear valentine ads during Speedweeks), that paid for the minimum wage labor running the board.

And Adams is right: Getting relatively cheap airtime was a great way to break the monopoly on golf products in pro shops and retail.

Golf Channel survived long enough to perhaps at least break even with the cable carriage rates, because those salaries aren't paying for themselves with ad time alone.

I believe it’s the Feed the Ball pod he’s been on where he is absolutely insane. Wild ego, very angry.

So CBS got the Farmers moved to Wednesday-Saturday so Nantz could do the final round before Sunday’s AFC title game?

The weird thing is, he's in Kansas City. He's doing it off the remote. CBS didn't want the tournament to conflict with the game, and I'm sure Farmers was happy to move, but Nantz is announcing it because he wants to.

With the NFL moving the season back and back and back, they've pretty much gutted the "California Swing." The Crosby used to be the third week of January, right after the Super Bowl, then down to Riviera - now its Hawaii, the Desert, SD, Pebble, Phoenix, then Riviera then Florida

If he didn't tell us, could you tell he isn't in La Jolla?
    I know I couldn't.

I’m amazed skinny Will Zalatoris doesn’t snap in half when he buckles his seatbelt.

Didn’t Phoenix have to switch to NBC last year because that was Super Bowl week on CBS?

Gutted how? Crosby hasn't been the third week of January in forever. Torrey had the week between conference title games and Super Bowl. Phoenix has Super Bowl weekend. Then it was Pebble. They just moved the weekends around.

And it's the leadoff PGA event for CBS so, yeah, Nantz was going to be on the call. I like the move, actually. I'm sure Farmers does too.
