His reaction looked so phony, almost rehearsed.

I was bummed Amy lost, but I respected that he did what so few challengers seemed to do and he played to win, risking it all in Double Jeopardy knowing it was his only shot to get within striking distance. It paid off. I expect he will not have a long reign as champ.

Oh, and his interview story was so incredibly banal, I couldn’t believe it was his most interesting story.

In Amy’s piece on the Jeopardy website, interesting that the taping of her last episode was before the airing of her first.

My wife’s immediate reaction last night: She threw it — missed on purpose because she was tired of being champ. I guess because it was such an easy question.

I disagree … sometimes you just blank out — even when you’re one of the best players ever. Don’t they film five episodes a day? Maybe this was No. 5 and she simply blanked out on Bangladesh.

She hadn't been strong in Final Jeopardy lately and this was the occasion that got her. IKEA Hitler gonna be one and done.

My wife and I both got it wrong. And, Amy works as an engineer, and I don't think geography has been a particular niche for her.

Ken Jennings clearly blanked on the one that dethroned him.

Edit: Never mind. Just saw an interview and he was thinking holidays and didn't even consider tax season.

Also, there’s still a small amount of luck involved in finding the Daily Doubles. The new champ found one at the right time, went for it all and gave himself a chance to win.

Ken gives more subtle strategy advice than Alex did. He has been hinting to the other players that they need to be aggressive with Daily Doubles against Amy.

I can't have anyone but James as my all-timer. Personality, game strategy. He was magnetic.
Amy didn't cut it for me.

In fairness, Alex didn't experience being a contestant.
