The difference is I use that phrase when someone actually does prove my point, which didn't happen in this case.

Aren't you supposed to be hiding in the echo chamber?

I read it as you implying that there is an issue with people on the left using Christian as shorthand for right-wing politics. That would fit with your misguided and dishonest attacks on people on the left over the years.

I never disputed that many Christians lean left. In fact, a genuine Christian should lean toward the party that favors helping others, especially those who need the most help.

Whenever I wonder if I'm too hungover to go to church, I remember I'm Catholic - and figure I won't be the first, or the last.

You read it wrong. Or I wrote it wrong.

I’d say this place has become a pretty finely-tuned echo chamber.

oop, you know I love you, but let's leave the Treehouse of the Higher Mind™ out of our discussions here.

They have nothing to do with us, and anyone holding dual citizenship is welcome on both sides of the semi-permeable membrane.

Plus which, this: the prime directive. www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/threads/what-happens-on-other-boards-stays-on-other-boards.102035/

    Hope you're thriving, my friend.

Does that mean I’ve been hungover for 35 years?

That comment was directed at DQ and he should know why.

I would think that the dogma of papal infallibility further complicates any apology by a pope or former pope, though I’m sure what might seem to be a hard-and-fast rule might be riddled with intricacies and exceptions.

I went to a Catholic funeral mass yesterday. I was raised Catholic but have drifted away in adulthood, so my mind wanders while at a service. This church had the 14 stations of the cross on the walls with little pictures and the roman numerals and I sat there staring at them while trying to remember the corresponding Super Bowl results.
