They were talking about this two years ago. I'm not sure why they're just considering setting it up nationwide now. The data has been pretty dead on from the start.

See, e.g., recent posts from @Justin_Rice in the "Economy" thread.

Maybe the BLS can add it to their plate. If Trump wins again, maybe that's how we'll finally eradicate Covid.

The Fed could always use an addition to its charge(s):
    1. Stable prices
    2. Long-term employment
    3. Climate change justice
    4. Virus-free shitters

    Long covid and kids

First findings from world’s largest study on long-COVID in children

The researchers said the data suggested that, between last September 2020 and March 2021, at least 4,000 (and possibly as many as 32,000 teenagers) of the total number of 11- to 17-year-olds who tested positive for COVID-19 in England may have had three or more symptoms linked to COVID-19 infection after 15 weeks.

The lower estimate (at least 4,000) relates to a best-case scenario, in which only the teenagers who responded to the survey had any persisting problems and those who chose not to respond the survey had completely recovered.

Co-lead author Professor Sir Terence Stephenson, Honorary Consultant at GOSH and Nuffield Professor of Child Health at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, said: “There is consistent evidence that some teenagers will have persisting symptoms after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2. Our study supports this evidence, with headaches and unusual tiredness the most common complaints."

Gonna die doing what he loves!

A North Carolina man in need of a kidney transplant said he "will die free" before getting vaccinated against COVID-19, even though the vaccination is a requirement for the lifesaving procedure.
According to WSOC-TV, when doctors and nurses brought up the topic of getting vaccinated, Carswell said there was nothing to discuss.
“It wasn’t up for debate, I wasn’t getting it. And he told me ‘You know you’ll die if you don’t get it,’ and I told him I’m willing to die.”

I seriously don’t get it. He’s willing to trust science/doctors enough to be put under anesthesia, cut open, have someone else’s organ put into his body and take immunosuppressant drugs (likely made by a company that also makes Covid vaccines) for the rest of his life, but nope, no Covid vaccine. Insanity.
