Ben Harper seems to be one of those musicians you happen on. Glad you enjoyed the video, which was directed by Laura Dern, BTW. You'll find as you delve into his catalog that he rarely skips the same rock twice.

I had to look for that! Thanks!

PC's commentary on Joe Jackson brought this song to mind. Stone-cold classic:

And I will say this for Joe Jackson -- there are damn few people who have done quality work at all stages of a 40+ year career like he has.

One thing I've come to realize with older artists I love like Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, and countless others... you're never getting another "Night and Day," "Look Sharp!," or "Imperial Bedroom." But if they put out a new album with one or two songs I really like, I'm happy.

If Joe Jackson can come up with songs like "Ode to Joy" and "Place in the Rain" 40 years into his career, I'll still be along for the ride.

For Mancunian Me about 30 years ago, this Bee Gees cover would've killed.

Alas, it was after heroin had zapped all the brilliance out of this band. They sounded like crap even clean.

Luscious Jackson is one of my favorite bands. Jill Cunniff has probably my favorite female singing voice ever.

Their song Lover's Moon is one of my favorite songs by them off my favorite album by them, Electric Honey.

The slow wailing violin, and Jill's sad sulky voice ... my god.

Several months ago Cunniff started selling original paintings mixed with handwritten lyrics. I bought Lover's Moon.

It arrived today ... totally fucked because the mailman tried jamming the priority express envelop into the tiny mailbox. Douchebag.

I inherited several Glenn Miller CDs from my parents after their passing. Great stuff, "Pennsylvania 6-5000," "I've got a girl in Kalamazoo." His band is still touring, I saw them several years ago.
