Bengals-Rams: Running Super Bowl LVI thread

I'm sure it's been discussed already, but I have to give the halftime show a gentleman's C. They did a great job with what they did, but they didn't understand the ashignment.

They thoroughly understood the ashignment. They white washed clashic rap/hip hop for the American mashes. They made the most artistically threatening aesthetic in 40 years a series of dioramas for children to gawk at. And they proved the ultimate genius of America, everyone can be bought and made to conform.

These guys (and one gal) have been explicit about making money as a priority since they first got famous 30 years ago.

Considering the synthetic outrage aimed at this year's halftime show and the 2020 Bootyfest with J-Lo and Shakira (if we'll all check our textbooks, we'll see this was The Big Outrage before the pandemic ship scared everyone two weeks later) I wouldn't bet against some Yee Haw Bro Country Hickslap Extravaganza next year with Florida-Georgia Game, Trace Adkins Disease, Big and Tall and a buncha' performative fake shipkickers.

Every single performer at the Super Bowl in the past 30 years has done it as a cash grab. FFS, the Stones took the money.
But any pretense of rebellion these performers want to portray disappeared with this Up With People Rap Show. But if Eminem thinks taking a symbolic knee is edgy, he's as much of a pussy as Kid Rock. He had a live mic for a billion people world wide, and he took the cash.
