If he had come out and done that from the beginning, he would have won. All he had to do was an ok job on covid and he wins, maybe, but its at least a closer race. Remember we had huge turnout and lot of it was in response to his covid response, people coming out pre vax, to vote like never before.. The important part is his original tone, what he did first, that is what would have stuck in their brains...trump say good! it must be good! trump say bad! it must be bad!

Wearing a mask might have helped Trump with him and Melania having their pics taken. But not the vaccination, which you pointed out was after the election.

My “fair enough” was for your vaccination date point.

That would have been a good "thing" to do, but it just would have pissed off supporters, not gained him any votes from those who voted against him. Probably a net loss.

    True.

As we all know that's the important thing when it comes to dealing with a public health crisis: "How many votes will this cost me?"

Kudos, though. You've managed to arrive at the fundamental problem when it came to Trump's response to Covid.

It's never the wrong time to do the right thing - even if it costs some votes from fucking morons and tinfoil hatters.

A decent human would not have disdainfully tossed aside his mask only minutes after being discharged from the hospital after getting life-saving (potentially) medical care. A decent human would have acknowledged the threat of the virus and would have done nothing to suggest the care he had just received was a waste of time.
    Your boy made it worse.

False. First vaccines administered in December. He was still in office. He could have encouraged his klan to get the vaccine. Instead, he ignored overt advocacy until long after he left office.
