Dudes in 31 BC liked to roll around in the sand and wrestle when the day's doings were done.
With an underpinning sense of some honor being at stake.
    That's this place, too.

Swing speed 133? That’s beyond Tour calibre and should be getting you more than 230.

Average on Tour is about 115.

Is that for all tee shots? I'm talking driver. Anyway I'm using the wrong club, a senior shaft I bought before I retooled my swing. Though younger friend swings same club 153/300.

If this was 2019, 'An Oral History of sj.com' might be a good read. Sadly, the oral history format seems to have faded as it got so fucked outm

Hope that promoting his book cum series doesn't get me booted from his MySpace page.

True, and sometimes it is exactly as it appears. :) I've certainly been involved in my share of it and then some.

I may be the very definition of posting too much here. I think it was 2004 when I joined. I actually found out that I had been screwed over on a job opening through this place, then became a regular poster. I've gone through periods of spending more or less time around here, including at least one suspension. Maybe it was two. Over such a long period of time, things blend together. I think one of them was due to a particularly nasty pissing match with BYH. Oddly enough, the dickhead is actually one of my favorite people here.

I joined the site at a rough time, not just due to the job. I've shared more than I ever imagined I would on a message board. This place has taught me some things. It has allowed me to discuss things that matter with good, intelligent people. It has also allowed me to discuss them with crappy, stupid people, but it is certainly more of the former than the latter. The situation that brought this place to my attention may have been a low point, but I'm still glad it brought me here.

I hear you. There are some good eggs here. But I don't want to give the place a bad reputation.

Francine: "What the hell are they doing here?"
Stephen: “[It’s] some kind of instinct ... a memory. What they used to do. This was an important place in their lives.”

Read this thread. Nice memories, nice perspectives. I'm just as stupid a motherfucker as I've always been. Cheers!

If you want some real blasts from the pasts? Read your PMs if you kept them. I did. Good Christ. The dumb ass tribalism and beefs that seem like they were 50 years ago. Can't believe how much emotional fuel was burned on some of it.

I wasted a lot of time here, but I have no regrets.
