Our district is going mask-optional on Monday. But we’ve had masks in schools for two years now and our town has one of the highest vaccination rates in the state.

She had covid, she knew she had covid, and she tried to spread it to her suitemates. She's a walking trail of smegma that needs to be sprayed with salt and left to dry out in the sun before she's sent back to her home town to be passed around by her cousins* like she used to be before she graddyated hah skewl.

Yes, I am a hateful bitch this morning.

And @HanSenSE, tots and pears, man.

She was freshly diagnosed with Covid and walked unmasked into my daughter's room. WTF does the new CDC rules say about that risk? I'm guessing that's a red flag metric.

To be clear, I was not posting that in relation to the troll or to Mngwa's daughter. The new guidelines have nothing to do with the way that asshole endangered Mngwa's child. I still find that infuriating.

That said, this is a thread about COVID and how people react to it. The new guidelines are relevant to the larger disucssion. I was simply trying to make a transition there and could have been clearer in doing so.

Sorry. As I mentioned in my response to Oscar, I was just trying to make a transition there and it made it seem as if I thought the new guidelines somehow made what that idiot did to your daughter somehow less shitty. I don't think that at all. That was a poor job on my part. I should have been clearer in separating the two. I had no intention of minimizing the way your daughter was exposed by an idiot's ridiculous behavior. I just hadn't seen the guidelines posted and they are worthy of being part of the overall discussion of COVID even though they don't really affect how anyone should see that specific incident.

Good enough. And the new guidelines are worthy of discussion.

Here in New York, I'll be interested to see how mass transit reflects these changing mask guidelines.

I can't imagine riding a bus or a subway in the foreseeable future without a mask.

I don't know if I'll ever ride public transportation without a mask again
