That debunking is pretty much what happened. Hunter Biden got an overpaid job in a bid by the company who hired him to curry favor, no doubt, but I don't know of a damn then that Joe Biden did for them.

The prosecutor was a piece of shit that there was international pressure to force out.

With regard to Putin's upping Russia's nuclear readiness, at no time in my entire life has the United States not had nuclear forces at the ready. The degree of that readiness, from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 1 varies, but it is never below 5. Putin put their forces at the ready and announced it, although he does not have to because multiple satellites will report it in near real time. We raised ours as soon as theirs was seen, and I'd bet that we are at a state where our retaliatory strike is set to autolaunch if Russia fires theirs. Putin is posturing, rattling the nuclear saber. If he's crazy enough to fire them we're all pretty much fucked, there's not much point worrying about it. I live in a city that will catch a nuke in the first exchange, so there's not a whole lot of point in my getting too worried.

Add that there's nothing that will focus the rest of the world's attention on Putin as a huge problem as quickly as Putin taking out the nuclear pistol and waving it around in a threatening manner.

I don't know where it lies in the Seven Stages of a Crisis - but we're definitely at the "people telling people what and how to support Ukraine and what not to do" stage of things. Apparently adding a Ukraine flag to your FB pic is good, showing off your order of Chicken Kiev is bad, sharing unverified "reports" from some rando's friend or relative who you don't know is good, Throwing out your Russian salad dressing or vodka is bad.

Russian dressing *is* pretty good ... sweet yet tangy. (Unless it's French dressing I'm thinking of.)

Personally, I think giving some money to UNICEF is good. There are half a million Ukrainian refugees, 90% or better women and children, and they're feeding and caring for them. Jose Andres charity as well.

'Russian' dressing is mayonnaise and ketchup.

    Grandma added pickle relish.

The swells downtown might throw in a heater, like horseradish or chili powder or Sriracha.

Add a little mustard and vinegar, et voila . . . Big Mac Special Sauce.
