That is one way the timing sucks, to end mandates right after schools return from a long break. The same is true for many districts in New York.

Even as restrictions ease here, 100% masked ridership on the subway yesterday. Uptown and downtown.

In Boston a couple weekends ago, there was 100% masks on the T.

A friend of mine got to London yesterday and texted me to say the whole city is basically mask free, save for the tube and airport. Would be really nice if the U.S. would drop the return test for fully vaxxed/boosted people by March 9, but I'm not holding my breath. Doubt that move is made before March 18.

Going to Honda Center for hockey games, I keep the mask around my neck and take it on and off as necessary, depending on crowded areas, etc. I always wear it in the elevator. I feel bad for the operators because they are stuck in a confined space and different people are coming and going every minute or two.
Last night, I got into the elevator and the operator was not wearing one (that's a first). I told her that I always wear it in the elevator for her sake. She said she doesn't like to wear it because it is hot. She is a teacher and has been exposed to every possible virus thus far. She is fully vaccinated (as am I). She steps out of the elevator frequently. OK.
Things are relaxing, I guess. I just hope it doesn't triggered another virus onslaught.

At first that made sense to me to start fresh after time off, but now that you mention it… especially with lots of these kids going out of state for vacation… it’s suboptimal.

First day back at work was Sunday. Since I tested positive, the county dropped mask mandates for customers, but employees are still masked. I'm using some of the KN95 masks from the pharmacy (Thanks. President Biden!) and feel more comfortable than with a cloth mask. Also relieved not having to play mask police any more. Wondering how long this will last.
