I just started hearing this song at the gym. It's called Harder They Fall by a Jamaican singer Koffee.

Love it already. Feels like I'm back in Kingston in 1998.

I stumbled upon the music of Swiss pianist Silvan Zingg a while back and while boogie woogie might not be everyone's bad this guy is really good:

 

The first song ever performed on "Fridays," and I don't think Loggins was ever better.

Phil Alvin of the Blasters talked in an interview how he became friendly as a young man with '50s blues shouter Big Joe Turner. I've always liked Phil's style, and you sure can hear how Turner influenced him.
