I honestly wonder what the Russian people are thinking.
"The news says we are doing a humanitarian mission in Ukraine. Hooray for us. Hey, why won't my credit card work or I can't get on the internet?"

 

I can’t imagine the Russian people are as gullible and weak minded as MAGAmericans. I’m sure there plenty of uneducated Russians outside Moscow and St Petersburg that like what Putin says. But this country lived through the lies of the communism in The 70s and 80s. They have to be more cynical than Bible Belt USA.

 

My son and his wife were in Moscow for the World Cup in 2018. They took a tour of the Moscow subway system, and my daughter in law and the young woman tour guide really hit it off, enough so that as the tour ended, my DIL asked the woman about Russia's political situation. After a silence, the woman replied. "Well, you know what it's like living under a terrible President who gets his support from old people in the countryside."

 

The alternative is both.

 

A little long, and it's obviously part of the propaganda war being waged by both sides, but it is riveting.
Captured Russian soldier basically says they were lied to about the mission and asks Ukrainians to take mercy on captured and wounded Russians so they can eventually bring the truth back to Russia.

 

I read elsewhere that it’s a war crime if the interview was coerced. The highly regarded Beau didn’t think it was.
