Thanks, Commish. Work with what you’ve got.

Just to check … I know we can set our keepers directly on the Yahoo site (computer only, not on mobile). Do we need to do more than that?

I just sent something. Pretty sure I did something wrong, but better to do it wrong now than the night before the deadline.

Each team is only allowed six keepers. Otherwise, what you sent is fine.

That should be fine. Honestly, I just need to know which six guys you are keeping. Also, if you have more than one keeper who was undrafted last season, you must designate which one will cost you a 25th-round pick, which one is a 24th, and so forth. If you have undrafted keeper or none, I just need the list of names.

I'll believe the lockout is going to end when I see real movement on the CBT, but with the owners at least seeming to finally get serious yesterday, consider this a reminder to keep an eye on this space. Be ready to submit your keepers within a week of the end of the lockout, as we agreed. I'll post something definite once we get some clarity regarding the start of spring training and the start of the season. Of course, this could all be theater, but best to be hopeful and prepared.

If everybody signs off on the reported deal, spring training will start next week and opening day will be April 7.

We had agreed upon setting the keeper deadline a week after the end of the lockout, so let's make it official. Keepers are due at 10 p.m. Eastern on March 18. I will try to set keepers and the draft order on the league site that weekend.

We had said that the draft would be the Thursday before opening day, so we have two options. April 7 is a Thursday. I would actually be fine holding the draft on opening day at 7 p.m. Eastern. That would give us a little more time between the keeper deadline and the actual draft. If nobody objects, that is what we will do.

The other option would be to hold the draft March 31, but that's a tight window after the keeper deadline.

    Thoughts?

Not particular but all else equal, I'd vote not to wait for opening day and a bit later at night.

I don't love opening day, either, but I do want a window between keepers and the draft. Remember, it might take me a few days after next week's deadline to get the keepers sorted out.

A late draft time is a problem for me, but if others agree, I could push it back a little.

Anybody else? I want to lock us in on a draft date and time by the keeper deadline at the latest.

The only day I can't do the draft is April 7 (when you scheduled it for) and I don't think it's a great idea to do it on Opening Day anyway since then the fantasy season wouldn't be the same as the regular season. I'd rather have the draft at least a couple of days before, so the league can start on Opening Day. I'd agree with Guy to do the draft a different day and maybe at a later time.

I would much rather do the 31st since my kid won't be on spring break then.

I'd rather not do the draft on April 7 or 9th, as those are my parents' birthdays. Other than that, I'm fine.

Head-to-head leagues often either lose a few days or have extended weeks unless opening day is a Monday. Either way, we would have the same number of head-to-head contests.

It looks like we have a few conflicts with April 7. I'll do the best I can to accommodate as many people as possible, but it will be one of those two dates.
