I too had no clue who that was. Zilch.

Yet when Sue Bird — who I actually recognize — appears in a couple different ads, both go out of their way to ID her.

Might be because I live in the NW that it seems weird.

Yes, the Spike Lee/Samuel Jackson/Charles Barkley commercials got old several years ago, but I have to admit I like the Chuck U ad, somewhat because of the double entendre but mostly because of the Fighting Sam mascot.

Who are the guys with her in the “best shade of blue” commercial?

I like the champion ship one. I think the commercials when it's just the three of them are still pretty good, but the ones that have pulled in Larry Bird and Sue Bird and Jim nantz and whoever the hell else are all pretty bad

Chuck U. Hahaha. How about the one where they're getting "a Double Bird."

I don't love it necessarily but it's unique and feels like the face of the new generation of commercialism.

While the skipping adds energy and charm, it's the music that makes the commercial.

It's from a song called Grumpy Old Man by Remi Wolf.

Here's the full song and video:

Wendy's. Aside from "did Reggie Miller lose his millions in a bad Indianapolis bar & grill deal so he's now working at Wendy's?" question, I must say... the woman who introduces him in the ads is rather cute.

I would never believe SHE would work at a Wendy's.

Ozempic commercial shows family at the kitchen table holding a tablet with a local newspaper story:

    LOCAL FATHER, DAUGHTER DONATE BIKES

I like the Progressive commercials in general and the Jon Hamm ones recently. But, what is going on with him? He did an Apple+ ad that made light of him not working and the only things I can recall him doing are ads. I know he has his problem, but wtf?

And when you think of his appearance in Top Gun, that was in the can three years ago. But there are a lot of actors who are "iconic" in some roles that you are surprised they dont' become bigger deals once the show ends. Pretty much the entire cast of Friday Night Lights, Tim Olyphant in Justified, various actors from Game of Thrones - you expect more of them based on the magnitude of their roles and the acclaim of their shows - but they rarely find another role that boosts them higher. Bryan Cranston has done well for himself, but I think it's agreed that he can't "open" a movie - get people to see a movie just because he's in it. THAT's what makes a "movie star" - when people like an actor or actress so much people figure it won't stink if they're in it. I realized Reese Witherspoon was going to be huge when Legally Blonde made $141 mil on an $18m budget. That movie had no business making that kind of cash based on the plot.

Based on its plot, Top Gun: Maverick shouldn’t make a dime.
