The Academy Awards

Elsewhere in Philly pride, love seeing Questlove get the Oscar for best documentary. That's two late night bandleaders winning in as many years.

 

Definitely not scripted. A friend who is there producing the show says everyone is stunned.

 

I turned this on for literally one random segment while flipping through channels and see Will Smith walk on stage and slap the shit out of Chris Rock, followed by one of the more awkward awards presentations ever.
This being showbiz, was that a bit? Didn't seem like it based off the reactions afterward, but that also looked like a stage punch from Smith. Seems like it should have put Rock, who was standing with his hands at his sides or behind his back and didn't really know what was going on, down on the ground if it had any kind of legit force to it.

EDIT: Watching it again, maybe Chris Rock can just take a punch and is one of the most professional performers in Hollywood.

Rock took the punch like a man. I wonder if Smith will say he accidentally mixed Alcohol and pain pills.
