Long overdue. Hopefully, they have Scott on his meds Friday.

 

Watching Roman's "Evil" episode, I can see they did some selective editing to make him look a bit more sympathetic.

The Mania return match vs. Drew after leukemia, pretty obvious they piped in boos for the documentary and even spliced a shot of an arena crowd booing Roman into the MetLife Stadium footage, where I don't remember him getting much boos.

This doc has been the more disappointing of the bunch to me. More of trying to stick to storyline than biographical and background.

 

That Roman Drew match is such a “time in history” type match, kind of reminds me of the first HHH Taker Mania match (was it 17? Or 18?) as far as being between two huge stars at a weird time in their careers that didn’t quite flesh out.

Its so weird how Drew’s yo-yo’d from that to two main events and now a seeming throw away match with Corbin. But at the time of the Roman match I remember thinking Drew was a throwaway to get Roman his mojo back and 3 years later it feels like it could end up part of a story that’s told if its Drew-Roman on top in 2023 or 24

 

Happy country boy Brock is so amazing.

 

If Seth gets to the ring and they trot out someone like Gable Steveson, that kid is going to be eviscerated by the crowd.

 

Not sure I get the Profits playing heel to RKBro when they have Alpha in the mix, but whatever.

 

They're gonna keep trying to make Omos a thing, aren't they?

 

He's big and looks intimidating, but he's a work in progress in the ring.

He's the sort of guy that, had he been around in the 1970s and 80s, would have benefitted immensely by having a manager. Of course, Vince would have given him a Kamala or Saba Simba type character, complete with hard head.

 

He needed time in NXT, but they loved his look way too much to let that happen. He was fine as AJ's bodyguard, and he was passable even as a tag partner because three other guys could carry the match. But he shouldn't be making the Viking Warriors look like chumps. The clothesline in last night's match wasn't even delivered that well, but it takes out a member of what's supposed to be one of the toughest tag teams in the business? He's a guy who needs to be a monster in a faction serving as backup to the other guys who can carry the weight. Maybe someday he can get past that. But right now he ain't close to there.

 

i sometimes wonder how Andre the Giant would have been received if he came up today. His in-ring work wasn't all that much better than Omos.

 

If you're thinking of the end of his career, yes. But in his prime (mid-1970s to around 1984), he was quite good for the time.

As a generational talent, there's no way, as Vince doesn't want anyone to stand out from the company.
