It would be fun hanging around a few barbershops today. My friends who are black are as divided as the public at large. And I think most probably would prefer tickets to a Rock show than a Will Smith deal.

 

Disagree. They both benefit tremendously in attention dollars.

To be turned into real dollars in their eventual joint appearance and/or reconciliation.

 

Would Chris Rock or Will Smith even conceivably be in a position to need money enough to do it for that reason, or possibly get enough money from it to make it worth their while?

 

Exactly. You do that when your career is on the downswing and need to manufacture something, anything, to stay relevant.........Not when 10 minutes later you win an Oscar in the most prestigious category.

With all due respect, this is a conspiracy theory that people in the Trump orbit would come up with.

 

Not on the night of Will Smith's coronation as a serious actor. I don't see it.

 

Smith has spent the better part of the last decade-plus turning himself into a laughingstock.

This Williams role is only a hiccup in that trend line.

Chris Rock estimated net worth is $60M.

Chris definitely needs the money.
