Went to the office yesterday for the first time in 2022. I hate my commute and wearing a mask on NJ Transit, but it was so pleasant to be around other professionals and just to be able to interact in person. Planning on 2x a week for the foreseeable future.

We did our first airplane trip in more than 2 years last weekend for a wedding and were around way more people than we have been around since the pandemic began. We even snuck in a hockey game Saturday night, with 20,000 unmasked Floridians of questionble vaccination status.

We had sore throats when we got back, which turned into fever and chills and cough and runny nose for me over the weekend. A few people who were at the wedding reported scratchy throat types of symptoms, my niece is now sick too.

I had two negative rapid tests, one last Thursday, the other on Saturday. Ms. Ragu is dealing with the fever now a few days behind me.

She got a PCR test yesterday that was negative.

I actually think we picked up the good, old-fashioned flu, not Covid. My working theory is that my immune system has been in a vault for two years and there was a virus that took one look at me and started licking its chops.

That royally sucks. Hope all the best for you, especially the little one.

Dumb question, are you able to get your doctor to OK a test for the 10 month old? We are able to get Covid and RSV tests for our little one through our doctor. And I know they aren't for infants, but we have used a home test. It's a PITA, but it's been the only thing we've had sometimes and the lab test is also a nasal swab so we've just gone with it.

The littlest one hasn't seemed sick, and the older one wasn't so sick that we felt we needed to head to the doctor - though obviously a positive test by any of us would change that calculus. Might just test the five month old anyway, since you say you've done it. I guess I figured we could, just didn't because the box doesn't recommend it or whathaveyou...

Wife and I had symptoms. My rapid came back negative. Her PCR was positive.

We’re all going to get it sooner or later. Hopefully you have done everything to help you before you get it.

This is what they want. A new variant is on the way, and it'll be more lethal than necessary because Trumpists in Congress can block spending bills more easily the they can block other stuff. And block they will. Their goal is to Mutombo any attempts to get new fedruhl spending for new boosters or other mitigating measures. Hence any economic growth will flatten and sentiment will turn further on Biden.
Trumpists win back the House, elect their lord and savior Speaker and call the snipers.
