You really still believe this was fake.

Smith looks like a feeble fool, he had absolutely nothing to gain from this.

I doubt this tanks Smith's career, and he doesn't have to worry about future paychecks, but it will certainly be the second line of his obit.

I don’t think we’ve seen the complete act yet.

Not sure why I care what strangers on the Internet think, but it drives me crazy that there are some people who still claim this. It must be that I'm triggered by all the conspiracy theory believers that have come out the past few years.

Well, even though you are really wrong, at least you have cared past your 24 hour caring prediction.

I feel like we're all playing a part in he and Jada's cuck/humiliation fetish.

Speak for yourself. I'm in Zooey Deschanel's world. And I got property, brother.

Just as long as you keep this theory to the board and not when you are among people in public. Unless you hang out with a bunch of people who still think the 2020 election was stolen. Then have at it.

I don't know if this was fake, or not. I can't decide. I think neither guy should've done what they did, and that Jada's eye-roll and exasperated look was certainly genuine. But the very fact that Smith's slap did look so feeble, and a little, well, performative, and almost slapstick, and therefore, fake, is what I think MC is picking up on, and referencing. The same thought occurred to me, and, undoubtedly, to many others. I'm just not as certain of the situation as he seems to be.

You're right in that there was nothing to gain, but these are a bunch of actors, putting on a show on the their showy-est night of the year. There doesn't have to be anything to gain. They're performers. It's what they do. Almost anything they do, especially on-stage, could be an act. That's why, even though we all think we "know" these people, because they're famous, we have to realize that we don't really know them at all. They're famous for being famous, that's usually pretty much it.

That said, I have to say, I wouldn't have any problem with my man being chivalrous and standing up for me if the need arose. Women like being treated well/specially by a man. Men shouldn't let anyone convince them otherwise. In this case, I would've wanted it to happen backstage, and more privately, though. The Oscars' stage just wasn't the time or place.
