Just watched that yesterday.

 

So I wonder how it went down? Who approached who about it? Did they practice the slap dozens of times to get it right?

Was there any disagreement on whether Will was going to say a few curse words to really sell it? Did Rock insist he should get a joke in afterwards before finally being convinced with a few extra thousand to let Will get over?

How many people did they let in on it? The circle must be small. Does Rock's brother and Will's mother know but are helping to sell it, or is it best to not get loved ones involved so all reactions are sincere? After all, not everybody is as good an actor as Chris Rock. Have you seen Grown Ups 2? Probably not, but part of the slap is that maybe people will reconsider and start buying it on demand.

Will they ever let people in on it? Months? Years? Are they worried that when people do find out, they might not find the joke funny? Are they having any regrets because it's not going the way they wanted, or is all the hype doing exactly what they want despite Will taking some pretty big backlash?

When it comes out that it's staged, that's going to be a hell of a story. Can't wait.
