This man may be very good, and certainly congrats are in order.

But I am so out of touch I have no idea who he is and I consider myself more than a casual baseball fan.

    Hmmmm.

Tigers acquire OF Meadows in trade with Rays

This will jumble up the batting order and create something of a logjam when Greene returns. This gives them 3 guys in a row -- Baez, Candelario and now Meadows -- who have consistently hit 20-25 HRs over the last 2-3 years, and that's not even counting Cabrera or Torkelson, yet.

It also provides some extra incentive to buy out Cabrera if he's not hitting at least league average after a month or so.

Two years ago Meadows was the Rays’ next big thing
    Now he’s a Tiger
One reason the Rays have trouble drawing fans is they trade everybody once they get expensive
BTW, younger brother Parker is a Tigers minor leaguer

Well, he's the guy who replaced Vin Freakin' Scully in the Dodgers' booth and apparently didn't get waylaid in any backlash, so he's got that going for him.

Somewhere in suburban Cincinnati Thom Brenneman screamed at his ceiling again.
