Hannah Gadsby's next special is going to be 3.5 hours long.

Looking at this list on the poll, 2007 seems like three lifetimes ago.

Is the Grammy-winning album part of the listening tour?

Louis C.K. Responds to Accusations: ‘These Stories Are True’ (Published 2017)

I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen. Thank you for reading.

"The Grammys are the Grammys." Isn't that the answer? It seems like Sunday's show was pretty well-reviewed, but the people and bands winning the awards have historically been awful, for one reason or another.

So what are the Grammys supposed to do here? Are they supposed to be awards for quality of the work you do, or are they public endorsements for being a good person?

Louis CK is a lousy person and his acts were disgusting and unacceptable. He's also a brilliantly funny comic. I haven't heard the album that won but I have no doubt it was the best comedy album of the year. I was surprised that he won, but I'd rather see the Grammys honor artists based on merit rather than on whether Twitter will be happy with the choice. (And not for nothing, America's Dad, the Most Trusted Man in America won seven Grammys for best comedy record over the years. Character judgments are tricky.)

The other nominees in the category were Lewis Black, Chelsea Handler, Kevin Hart, Lavell Crawford and Nate Bargatze. So, not exactly a murderer's row, which isn't surprising given that I can't remember the last time I bought a "comedy album." Probably Lewis Black or Norm, back in the early 2000s. Stand-up comedy has migrated to Netflix and premium cable, and it wouldn't surprise me if the best of it just isn't pressed as albums anymore.

Awards organizations are always free NOT to make an award.
