hahaha. We used WHIP in the '80s. We just didn't call it that. Everything didn't have a nickname back then.

Yup. It was referred to as WHIP by the '90s, so it is far from new.

It'll take awhile to sink in ... no more Indians ... now the Cleveland Guardians.

My whole life it's been the Indians. But now the Guardians. Cleveland Guardians.

    That is a horrid name.

Greinke vs. Jose. F8 for a 1-2-3 inning.

    Baseball season's begun.

Shoulda gone with Rocks, for no other reason than to have Rocky Colavito throw out the first ... rock.

And Hayes leaves the first game of the season with an injury. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Young Cleveland pitcher strikes out one of the best hitters in baseball -- Merrifield -- on a nasty curve, two outs.

Pitcher then gives up an RBI double to rookie to Bobby Witt Jr -- first hit ever after starting 0 for 3 -- and the Royals lead 2-1 in bottom-8.
