    Posted not because of the umps being mic'd on replay, but to comment on the sound of that crowd in Toronto. This could be a special year there, and a fun one to follow if the fans stay in it like that. Imagine the postseason.

    Huggy Jr was there last night, said it was insanely loud for that review and the Hernandez homer. Tough to keep that energy up every night - they'll sell loads of tickets but the electricity of an opening-night game like that is tough to replicate on a Tuesday night in August against the Royals or Mariners or whoever. It'll be a tough barn to play in - as we say in the hockey bidness - if they get to the playoffs.

    I didn't care for the Angels-Astros broadcast on Apple.

    The Pena moment was a lucky break, but they beat it into the ground. (Heidi Watney is incredible.) They missed calling a different homer because of some other nonsense they were doing.

    I usually have the volume at 14 on my TV, just a shade loud, but at 12 I miss things. I had it at 20 last night because I just couldn't understand what Nolan was saying (high-pitched voice, mumbles and snarky comments made almost under her breath). Pence talks too softly, even though he comes up with interesting stuff to say. It was his first game, so I'll give him a break. He needs to do some homework -- he was guessing that Maldonado used to be on the Angels and then he was on the Astros and he didn't know how that happened. Nelson, I just don't know about him. They kept showing things he has done, he kept saying this shouldn't be about him, but he kept talking about himself.

    They'll be at Dodger Stadium next Friday.

    LOL. What's the average age between the two of you and "Phill"? You're not their target audience.

    That Trout bomb was glorious to watch (I had the game on as background last night). The bat speed, the precision of the swing and the efficient depositing of such a mistake location. You could almost see it all coming together as the pitch headed to the plate. That was fun.

    @HanSenSE
    I have been listening to old Giants radio broadcasts and I think it was you who said Hank Greenwald was one of the hidden greats.
    And I concur.
    There are nights I put on a Hank radio broadcast to relax me before sleep. He is smooth and has a fine dry wit.
    A strange career though - two stints with the Giants sandwiched around two years with the Yankees.

    LOL

    Billy McKinney is starting at first base and hitting third for the Athletics in Monday's series opener against the Rays.
