Because WWE. From being around the top of the NXT card to being the mouthpiece for Mace.

Dear God, they really are treating Butch like the second coming of Hornswoggle.

Apparently, all the WWE name changes stem in part from all the old NXT stars who took their old names to AEW. Vince doesn't want the wrestlers to use any semblance of their given name.

Hence, Kay Lee Ray now being known as Alba Fyre.

And again tonight when she was walking in the back. She’s joining Edge and Priest.

WWE pulling out all their old favorites: power-hungry authority figure, lie detector test, two weddings, an arm wrestling contest.

And I have this sinking suspicion that Vince will do one of his favorite things next week: have the hometown star lose, and Sonya takes the belt from Bianca in Knoxville.

I guess with Undertaker retired, the druids got sent down to NXT.

Hmm. Both Punk and Dustin Rhodes entered through the heels' tunnel (left).

You may be putting too much into which tunnel is which.

NJPW and AEW doing a joint PPV? It might be the first wrestling PPV I order since the early 1990s.

I thought it changed from week-to-week. Heels out on the left last week, out on the right this week.

Was it just me, or did it look like Punk might have been legit injured at the end of his match with Dustin?
He got Dustin up for the GTS, screamed, and then they clearly audibled to a finish where he was holding Dustin down with one arm for an awkward looking roll up. Right afterward he was holding his left arm kind of limp. Looked like he might have torn a bicep or elbow tendon.

Also, if you appreciate the art of wrestling, that finishing sequence was a thing of beauty. Punk clearly had a problem. Dustin floats over him, on the fly, to switch to a different, unplanned finish and Punk is able to flow with it to get them home. It was sloppy and obviously looked weird, but two veterans and pros were able to land the plane safely without making a potentially bad situation worse.

Heh ... I think Danhausen got Hook to crack a smile there. Gotta love how the thought of a Danhausen/Hook match got a bigger pop than the NJPW announcement.
