Ukraine Always Get What You Want

I think it would be reckless for POTUS to go to a war zone where we are not a combatant. The visit would achieve little but could provoke much. I’d rather prove our might by, well, using our might.

Random assaults' on railroad stations, etc. he Russians would surely indiscriminately strike anything they could on the remote chance of killing Biden.

 

I'm not a fan of Pelosi, admittedly, but, somehow, having her meeting Zelensky, particularly on her own, does not thrill me.

Agreed. It politicizes US support. Not a fan of that. Trumpists will start to pivot.

 

Six weeks ago you were advocating for Biden to visit Kyiv.

She’s doing it for political reasons (of course), and she apparently thinks it will help her party come midterms. IMO she’s wrong and it’s a stupid move, but there is a reason she’s led the party for 20 years and I’m a former journalist wearing pajamas on a Sunday morning hoping Kate Upton starts eating crackers in my bed.

I still don’t want to see Biden in Kyiv. The Russians are probably trying to put a bullet in him here, at home, never mind on a trip to a war zone.

 

Yeah, I don't get the argument (at least as I read it) ... he shouldn't go there because it might be provocative, which is why we should do something that's even more obviously provocative.

 

Why? Blinkin was just there, this is clearly a coordinated effort by administration to support Ukraine.

 

Oh bullshit. It's a democratic administration. The top level people in are Democrats. Who is supposed to go to placate the trumpers? McConnell, Cruz, Graham, Greene, Hawley, Cawthorn, Boebert? There's only people that will placate the trumpets.
