    Except that the right has sympathies with these sentiments and elected Trump as a result. Do you think Josh Hawley is going to denounce these people?

    I'll amend that to many Fundies and Babtis have a weird thing for saying Catholics aren't real Christians or somesuch.

    True story: A Fundie cow-irker used to pitch hissyfits if someone put her next to anyone who was Catholic, Lutheran, or Episcopal. I told her I was an old-school hoodoo worker and she was fine with it until I started putting little Amigurumi likenesses of her under her windshield wipers at lunch.

    Was just in a conversation today where I was reminded that my grandfather, a fundamentalist Baptist preacher, believed that Catholics were not actually Christians.

    Your amendment ("many") is fine ... I do wonder how your fundie colleague could tell an Episcopalian, although I suppose the sip-sip-sipping all the day long was a giveaway.
