Russia doing everything in its power to piss off Israel with its "Hitler was a Jew" remarks and doubling down on the Nazi lies. According to Wiki, some 500,000 Ukranian settlers live in Israel and Ukraine was one of the 33 states which voted for a Jewish state in Palestine.

Unlike NATO, Israel could step in -- with the tacit approval of the U.S. -- and would unleash some serious shit on the Russian Bear.

How would that play with some of the Arab states that have ties, in one way or another, with Russia?

The Israelis were noticeably silent for all of this because they have a lot of oligarch money sitting there. Even if it took insane comments to get them off the pot, good on them.

We're? It's the EU. And as a commission they are even more feckless than the United Nations. I am sure they were too buy legislating every aspect of every business to get to it. One thing at a time.

Seriously, it's a really difficult thing for Europe to do. Slovakia and Hungary are totally reliant on Russian oil.

    All understood.

But a proposal to ban Russian imports should have been part of strategic planning against Russian adventurism since 2014 or before.

And it's 'we're,' as in 'part of the western alliance fighting Putin.'

The US could have and should have schemed out a contingency for exporting more oil to Europe as part of its planning.

The US can't even get its own oil companies to move to full production because they're too busy doubling and tripling their profits by not doing so.

Also, Europe is working on ramping up nuclear plant production. The UK has 10 planned. But you cannot change your energy consumption over night. And there's still the waste to deal with. Maybe we can store it in Sibera after the fall of Putin.

When Exxon Mobil lost $22 billion in 2020 because the Fed had created massive misallocations of capital that had those companies operating unprofitably to the point that they were putting themselves in massive debt to drill unprofitably, where were all the closet central planners who knew how much they should or shouldn't be drilling at any given moment in time?

Hey, stop trying to inject reality into my delusional "Raid at Entebbe" sequel. Plus, Israel's undefeated since 1967, which makes them better than Alabama in the polls.
