Boasting about how much direct tactical aid we're contributing to the Ukrainian war effort seems like an attempt to widen the war and humiliate Putin.

I've been told for the last 350 pages we can't afford to do that, because treaties. And Putin has nukes, ad inf.

It must be terrifying for all soldiers to know that this can happen to them. When the artillery shelling begins there is a drone 1,500 feet overhead sending back real time video so that the arty can adjust fire and sweep the places that haven't been hit yet, there is no place to hide and you can't even hope to get lucky. I'm not taking sides here - Ukrainian or Russian, the idea that your unit can be dug in somewhere, doing your job, following your orders but have this happen to you on the modern battlefield is just crazy.

 

As always the real winner in war is General Dynamics.

 

And Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, etc.

 

But isn’t that how the war is being portrayed in Russia? That they are fighting not only Ukraine and the Nazis, but the West in general and NATO in particular.

Doesn't mean we should be confirming it. Especially in light of all the US prevarication up to this point, meant to keep things (relatively) cool.

And again, if the above-average Americans posting on this thread are to be believed, we need to keep mum on the whole business of Putin vs Europe. Too risky.
