    My definition of responsibility?

My god, is it some kind foreign language to think someone ought to be responsible before you get pregnant? I cannot believe everyone's fine with people -- men, women, whoever, doing whatever the hell they want, while the most basic ideas of responsibility are, essentially, seen as the problem in this discussion.

I had a co-worker who would always say "god willing"...all I had said was "see you tomorrow".

You know what? If everyone/anybody had read any/all of my posts, they'd know that I'm not against people having a choice in the matter, largely for reasons like the ones you describe. And I'll say it again (for the fourth time now): While I would probably not have an abortion myself, I also wouldn't want to make that decision unilaterally for someone else. So I'm not against abortion being legal.

I'm against people being irresponsible and seeming uncaring, about something so significant and important, so life-changing (even if you only consider yourself and only think of the nine months of change, embarrassment and explanations you might have to put up with) just if/when they feel like it, even if it's because it's "their body." And frankly, I can't believe that seemingly no one here gets that, or appreciates or agrees with it.

Because, then, yeah, what about the fetus'/baby's' body?

The only thing good about that woman's decision(s) (and her attitude) is that at least she isn't raising any kids. She is what's wrong with our society.

Her job is to get a rise out of you.

    Mission accomplished.

My wife started out on an IUD early in our marriage. The thing gave her a pelvic/ovarian infection that put her in the hospital, threatened her life and damn near cost her ovaries. Then she got pregnant while on the pill. Twice. She took it every night, it wasn't like she'd wasn't doing her part. Were we "not being responsible"? Accidents happen.

Add that, as you should already know, most men consider contraception to be the woman's responsibility/problem. It's hard to get many of them to so much as wear a condom.

You're ridiculous to be honest. You say that you're not against abortion, but in your mind, you only want the woman to have the abortion if she's been reverent about the process. If she cares about it, if she's careful about it, if she's responsible about it. Guess what? Accidents happen. Stupid decisions happen. Rape happens. Incest happens. There are a multitude of reasons why a woman ends up with an unwanted or unexpected pregnancy. I think I've cited these stats on here before that many women who get abortions already have children. Many of them are poor. The idea that you can sit there on your supposedly Christian morals and dictate how a woman should act to when she gets an abortion makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. That's as plain as I can say it.

You don't know these women. No one does. You don't know how each individual reacts to stress and grief. Some people are flippant. Some people sob uncontrollably for days. Some people are sarcastic as a form of self-protection. Some people just get on with their lives. But you have this idea in your mind of how you think a woman should act when she has an abortion. And as I said before, it sickens me.

That’s why I was out the second she talked about consulting the fetus.
