Her job, if she actually believes in her viewpoint, is to change my mind/make me see her point of view.

That will never happen, going about it in that way, or yes, with that attitude and with such disrespect for life. Except her own, of course.

Abortions should be safe. They should be rare. They should be available for those who need them, whatever her reasoning.

No one has one for fun. They are gut wrenchingly hurtful. People don't just run out and get one on impulse. There are as many reasons to make that choice as there are women. Some are better than others, some are quite poor... but I can't think of a more personal aspect of someone's life. To have a gang of men who have no clue what it is like to carry and have a baby pass laws that would imprison women over it for political reasons or for reason of their particular religious beliefs is an invasion of privacy that men would not stand for.

Let's pass a law that all men get a vasectomy when they turn sixteen. If they decide that they want children, they can always have it reversed. That solves the problem quite neatly. How far do you think that one will go in the Louisiana legislature?

    It's not.

Her job is to provoke - and while doing so widen the parameters of the discussion and get us all to examine our positions on the issue.

    Again, mission accomplished.

The GOP is actively working on legislation that bans/restricts/limits access to contraception.

There are not "multitudes" of reasons why women end up with unwanted pregnancies. Most women are not raped, they have not had an accident, etc. They've been lazy, irresponsible and uncaring.

As far as accidents, dumb decisions, rape, problems...well, duh. But most women who have abortions have not been raped, and have not had an accident, etc. The vast majority have just been lazy, irresponsible and uncaring.

Even if they don't just abstain/have better timing, etc., contraceptives, for the most part, work very effectively these days, and if you don't want to become pregnant, and do something about it, you probably won't.

And I would not support that.

I'm sure he'll consider it is more than a mere inconvenience if his wife/daughter are ever raped and impregnated.

It isn’t just the blatant hypocrisy of Pro-Life, which opponents of abortion most certainly are not, it’s that they are proud to ruin lives to control women and their sex lives. Griswold is next and women will need permission from a man to get contraception. It should come as no surprise that the Catholic Cabal of 5 justices are the most dangerous and inherently hostile to not only women but all nonCarholics. These Catholic thugs are bullshit Catholics. They ignore the People and all clergy that don’t agree with them. The church of child rape and degradation is doing now what they’ve done for most of history. Bastard gutter religionists.

BTW, 1st Catholic SC Justice? Roger Taney. How could it be any other way.

Well we are all fucking happy that it passes your approval. God forbid a woman should make a decision about life without your blessing and your fellow scumbags

You aren't happy. You've never been happy. You'll never be happy. And screaming at people on a message board ain't gonna change that.

Having cancer right now and having lost my wife to cancer 12 months ago, 1, I don’t have much to be happy about. 2. I don’t believe in God or I’d spend 24/7 praying that certain people and their families get cancer.

Conversations about 'attitude ' and 'tone' around issues like this remind me of the early Pride days, back in the 70s, when the complaint was the same, especially when it came to flamboyant costuming: I agree with what they're saying about their rights, but must they say it like this?

    Yes.
