He made contact with the elbow to the head. That he made contact with the shoulder as well doesn't change that. He extended the elbow as they made contact.

Not an extended elbow … shoulder-to-shoulder. OK. So what body part is that hitting Crosby in the face?

It has nothing to do with anything else in the series, it has nothing to do with anything that Trouba may have done years back in a game that had nothing to do with this series, and has nothing to do with Jake Guentzel (who actually has been hitting people after the whistle all series like a little shit, but that has nothing to do with it either). What it has to do with was that hit. It was with his shoulder, he was on the puck, he didn't take a running start, didn't leave his feet, etc. and if he caught his head it was inadvertant because Crosby was falling forward and lowered his head. That was not a dirty hit in my opinion.

Crosby wasn't falling forward. I get that you don't want to admit what actually happened, but it is very clear that Trouba extended his elbow and that is why it made contact with Crosby's head. It doesn't matter if he took a running start or left his feet, though those would have made his guilt even more clear. He extended the elbow to make contact with another player's head. That is illegal. it is dirty. His history absolutely has something to do with whether or not there should be a hearing. It means he is a repeat offender.

Your little rant about Guentzel proves my point. You are just a fanboy standing up for your team. Hell, maybe I am, too, but the facts fit my point of view far better than they fit yours.

I get it. You want a possible Rangers' victory to be fair and clean. It wasn't last night and it wouldn't be if they win the series. The turn in last night's game was directly tied to an illegal hit knocking Crosby out of the game. The Penguins had complete control of the series with Crosby, now the Rangers have a chance because he is likely done for at least the first round.

I love this. Fanboy accusing fanboy of being biased.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t think it was a worthy of a suspension, but I’m sure OOP will be around to set me straight.

The league is still a garage league run by dinosaurs and I sure as hell hope Crosby’s ok but they got this one right.

Oh my God, how did I allow myself to forget he was a Pittsburgh homer? That makes this back and forth make so much more sense.

Funny how you missed the fact that I acknowledged my potential bias in my post, something he failed to do in his. That he went on ranting about Guentzel clearly demonstrated where his post was coming from.

There is clearly nothing I could post that you wouldn't argue. You have proven that many times over.

Seriously, how did you miss it? I acknowledged it in one of my posts.

Ha. I know how that goes. I get JC missing it. I'm sure he simply chose to ignore it so he could make his snarky remark.

The Leafs just can't finish a series.

Some may view it as sacrilege for a Sabres fan to root for the Leafs but I was a Leafs from before the Sabres existed and I've always liked them. They were Wednesday night appointment viewing in my teens on the Ontario version of HNIC.
