Exactly. The authorities will have to redefine "vaccinated" and "fully vaccinated."
At this point, it looks like the "fully vaccinated" account for 67% of the total US population and 42% of recent deaths. Although Doc's point is a good one, the troublesome thing is that the vaccination rate has stagnated for weeks. In December, for example, I'm guessing the vaccinated accounted for 62% of the population but far less than 42% of the deaths.

If I remember correctly among the over 65, it's like 97% double vaxxed but only 40%, low 40's, who have been boosted. That's your most susceptible group.

I’m honestly not sure why they haven’t done so already. Should’ve happened months ago. Because, quite frankly, “full vaccination” against COVID is looking more impossible by the day.

    Change “fully vaccinated” to “current.”

Don’t refer to doses as “first,” “second,” “third,” etc. Just say the doses are considered “valid” if given within the last XX months.

AARP Magazine in today's mail quoted "more than 200,000 nursing home residents AND staff have died of COVID." That's 1 out of every 5 deaths in this country. What a terrible tragedy for our elderly and their caregivers.

More like a flu shot, where the strains selected to cover change from year to year. Every year the immunologists huddle up and read the tea leaves and try to figure out which are most likely to be the dominant strains. It takes several months to produce nationwide levels of vaccine, so they can't wait to see what hits and then make a vaccine in response.

Tetanus is good for ten years.

Doh! Didn't even think of that more-direct comparison!

I took my dad to the VA for his first three shots.

It was in a large, open air atrium. Probably 8-10 stations rolling people through. Lots of folks.

For his fourth we went to the same VA and it was in an office about 12' x 12' with two stations.

No wait, we saw two other people come in for shots while we were there. Nothing close to the numbers we saw the first three.

    This isn't a good sign.
