I don't know ... when our oldest (who's 28) showed up and the breastfeeding didn't go so hot, I had to go further into my "supportive husband" toolbag than I ever had before (and ever have since). Moving her off the "I'm a failure as a mother" mindset was quite the challenge.

I remember our pediatrician telling us to just skip the regular formula and use this "predigested" stuff (Nutramigen?). He said, basically, "It's nasty but FirstBorn will tolerate it a lot better." Naturally, FirstBorn yacked and yacked and yacked and yacked ... she was the puniest little thing. Finally one day I said, to hell with this, and while MommaQuant was out I put some run-of-the-mill stuff we'd gotten from the hospital in her bottle. She slurped it down like it was nobody's business! Within a day her color had improved, and at her next doc visit she'd actually gained some weight.

And did I get a "Attaboy!" from MommaQuant? Oh hell no! She got all mad because I dared try something different. Good Lord!

 

Interesting wardrobe choice. Trump gets the dad jeans; Zelenskyy gets the khakis.

 

No wonder he looks uncomfortable ...
