They count this one, they've gotta count Bumgarner's during the covid season [/stillpissed]

I don't know if this says more about the Reds or the Pirates, though.

They are both terrible, though the Pirates have kept their record somewhat respectable. They are the worst two teams in MLB in run differential by a wide margin. The Pirates are at minus-55 while the Reds are minus-66 after today's game. The only other team over 40 is the Royals, who began the day at minus-44, but they do have a 3-0 lead on the Rockies right now.

We're almost at the "quarter-pole" of the season, and you can probably book the AL playoff teams right now.

And couldn't there be a better sponsorship patch for umpires to wear than a dodgy currency? Was Lenscrafters not available? Caesar's Palace?

I vote for the technology company that developed the robot umpire system.

I guess that's one way to handle a blowout. The results were what you would expect. He gave up back-to-back home runs by Luis Gonzalez and Joey Bart.

Both teams had position players pitch in the game. Gonzales threw one and a third scoreless innings.

Plate ump Marty Foster twice got hit flush in the facemask in about 4 pitches (Angels at A's). The first, he spun and hit the ground with a thud. He talked the A's trainer into letting him stay in the game. A couple of pitches later, another shot, similar result. He was woozy this time and left the game.
