Woke Illustrated Releases WNBA Swimsuit Model Photos, Keeps Pumping Inclusion Angle - OutKick

I don't watch a lot of the WNBA, but whatever, the mag is doing what it thinks is the best business decision. The comments here are bad. The guys on here would last eight seconds or less if any one of those women, even the "dogs," got naked in front of them. Incel culture is bad, and yeah, I'm looking down on these loosers* because that's what they are.

(* — Newbies: "Loosers" is SJ style.)

Yeah - how ridiculous to show actual athletes in the SI Swimsuit issue instead of the usual models.

Clay Travis site writes something awful. People are outraged. Rinse. Repeat.

I felt like that was bad, even for Outkick. Usually it focuses on the race-baiting and Dem trolling vs. outright sexism.

Not commenting on Clay Travis or Outkick of the motivations and trolling. We all know who they are.

But the Swimsuit issue existed because it sold copies. A boat load of copies that made a ton of money. Right or wrong, objectifying women or not, they came up with something that had a huge audience, which made for a cash cow.

Does anyone really think there is that much demand out there for photos of WNBA players in onesies? Actually it's not a matter of what any of us think. Throw itout there, as opposed to an old issue of SI with Tyra Banks on the cover and objectively see what they do in terms of making money.

What happens here is that we all know what I am saying, so Travis takes it to an extreme with edgy "wokeness" commentary designed to trigger the people that photo is really geared to. And that brings about the other extreme, where those people pretend that Kate Upton in a bikini was not being driven by an insatiable appetite of men to see Kate Upton in a bikini, while these photos are not going to have anywhere near the same kind of interest from anyone. And you are a sexist if you so much as hint at the obvious.

Didn't Clay Travis sell Outkick to Fox a year or two ago?

The WNBA players are to the swimsuit issue what the articles were to Playboy. Those initial ESPN the magazine ads still make me laugh - considering they too came up with "The Body" issue.

Sure, but Deadspin was still a Daulerio site well after he left. And it had stopped being a Will Leitch site long before.

This guy's column is stupid on pretty much every level. By the way, two of the four cover models this year are Kim Kardashian and Ciara. The other two are a 74-year-old and a fuller figured model. So, it's not like they've completely left the T&A behind here. Finally, to use classic SJ.com parlance, I think a couple of those WNBA stars certainly qualify as 6s, even if they play in the WNBA.
