My Holmgren thoughts are purely anecdotal. I didn't watch Gonzaga every night. I watched their high-profile games and never came away overly impressed by him, relative to the hype.

I watched a handful of Zags games and part of Holmgren's low usage rate is because he wasn't the most aggressive but most of the reason is that the Zags had the Senior Player of the Year, Timme, and also that the Zags system is not intended to depend too heavily on one guy.

Something’s off with Steph, huh? I wonder if he has an inner ear or an eye problem.

... Of course, if Dallas is going to allow everyone else to shoot 11-for-14 (78.5 percent), I think they'll be OK.

    True.
The Stephologist I live with points out that Poole plays with the joie de vie that Steph used to display but hasn’t lately.

I would also add - Even if Curry is having a bad shooting night, he gives effort out there. I've always thought that his size and prowess on offense understandably overshadows that, but tonight's line at halftime is a good example. Just 4-for-10 shooting, but seven rebounds, four assists and zero turnovers. He doesn't disappear.

This time a week ago I was driving back from a softball game listening to the Warriors getting the shit kicked out of them by Memphis. Damn, how things turn aruond.

Warriors have four players who could get 20 on any particular night. The Mavs have Luka. I like the Warriors in 5.

The Ws defense was improving as the game wore on, which was stellar. They didn’t just blindly switch on soft screens letting them pick who to attack, the Ws showed them scrambles to get back to shooters on the perimeter. Very high level effort and great to see

There’s no way Holmgren is a PF or a C in the NBA, right?

20 years ago certainly not. But in today's NBA the role of the traditional big man has changed so dramatically that a PF is now the tallest player a team has who has the basketball skills and agility to play as a wing. So I think Holmgren can play PF>
