This happened to them once before. Ruben Rivera?

Yup, you beat me to it. He stole Jeter's glove and sold it, then got shitcanned immediately thereafter.

It's got to be that I pick the right times to check out the Orioles, but this is the second straight season where they've looked very competitive every time I've watched them. Adley Rutschman is arriving in the next few weeks, too.

    Scherzer out 6-8 weeks.

Tigers' Matt Manning leaves rehab start after three innings with Toledo because of "lightheadedness." Of course, he probably got whiplash from turning to see all the line drives he was giving up before then. Call me pessimistic, but I'm not seeing either Mize or Manning doing a lot of contributing for the rest of this season.

On the bright side, Alex Faedo recovered from TJ quicker than expected and they need him
On the other hand, Joey Wentz isn’t ready and Beau Brieske looks ordinary
That’s the problem with building around arms
Ideally, you can trade the surplus for position players you need but injuries usually use up the surplus
Of course, when they had Verlander, Scherzer, Porcello and Sanchez they were swept by the Giants

This post was made on May 5, when the Reds were 3-21. Since then, they're 8-5, with one of those losses that goofy no-hitter. They finished a sweep of Cleveland this afternoon.
A couple of weeks ago when they were 3-21 I thought about just laying $20 on the money line against the Reds, every day, and likely come out ahead in the end.
    Glad I didn't do that.

Only a year later than he should have. Their catchers are hitting .141 and .118.

Raisel Iglesias, the Angels closer, has given up walk-off homers to two of the last three batters he has faced.
The one in Oakland came with the Angels up, 3-1. He got the first two outs and was 0-2 to Laureano, who doubled. He walked the next guy then gave up a three-run homer to Luis Barrera.
Last night against the Rangers, the Angels led, 5-4, after scoring in the 10th on an error. With the ghost runner on second, Nathaniel Lowe homered.

The schedule came back around in the Reds' way (thanks, Pirates!), as did the bats. But that was a helluva gravy train while it lasted for those who were on it (and I was not).
