Is that something they can square with his appearance/fate in Hawkeye? I'm not familiar with the comics.

I'll put this in a spoiler in case anybody hasn't gotten around to watching the show yet.

I hadn't read the comic, but I looked it up after I watched the show. In Matt Fraction's run on the Hawkeye comic, which they used as the basis for much of the show, there is a similar storyline with Echo and Kingpin. In the comic, she shoots him, but he doesn't die. Kingpin is blinded, though he eventually regains his sight. I assume they could do something similar in the MCU.

IIRC, at the end of Hawkeye -
Kingpin just gets shot. I don't think it's hard to work around the fact that it might not have killed him, since unless you actually see someone's brains get splattered, they usually manage to survive. Maya is also getting her own spin-off show, potentially, so I doubt they want the enabling act of that to essentially be a murder. Not very hero-y, even if she's going to be more grey than pure white.

You remember correctly, and that logic makes sense.

This gives us a lot more of Thor and Jane along with a first decent look at the villain.

It seems like Kamala will be a hit.

The character is great in the comics. Like Miles Morales, despite the name, they actually created something original. I hope the show lives up to that.

Edit: I had no idea the first episode was dropping this morning. I think this is the first time Disney+ launched one series while another was still going on. Obi-Wan Kenobi gets priority for me, but I'm sure I'll be watching the first episode of Ms. Marvel later today, too.

I haven't watched Moon Knight yet. So behind on TV it isn't even funny.

I will get to it eventually, but I think our house would like jumping into Ms. Marvel first. Is there any need to watch Moon Knight ahead of it? (In my head I don't think so, but never know with Marvel.)

Having watched all of Moon Knight, and only having seen trailers for Ms. Marvel, I highly doubt it. MK takes place mostly in London and the Middle East, while Ms. Marvel is seemingly New York or New Jersey. Plus, MK is pretty dark and spooky, as far as Marvel goes, and it was self-contained, although I imagine he'll show up in some movies.

If they are true to the comic, Ms. Marvel is set in New Jersey.
