MLB 2022: The Long and Winding Thread

Really want to know your thoughts on this. It’s been going semi viral on Twitter.

 

The default now -- should be -- that once you reach drinking age and catch a foul ball, you look for the nearest kid to hand it to.

 

That’s a dick move and I hope the dude’s friends crush him for it.

 

Fuck that. I've been waiting my whole life to catch a foul ball. Maybe the second or third one if I'm that lucky, but the first is mine. I want that life trophy.
Might as well give the kid a participation trophy for going to the game if you give it to them. They need to work for it or have fortune smile upon them like everybody else, not pout or beg like a little street urchin.

That said, the guy keeping the ball in this situation is a total dick. A foul ball or home run is fair game. When it's clearly thrown to somebody specific like this, you've got to give it to them.

 

Same applies to a tshirt toss.

 

As simple as it gets. There’s no other answer.
