My view of Pereira is the exact opposite. Yes, he flamed out spectacularly on 18. But let's not forget the whole round. He was nails several time earlier in the round. I was hoping for a close thrilling finish (not necessarily even for him to win) and he came up with the goods two or three times when it looked like he could collapse (like many others/newbies before him) and he made those putts.

If anything, I though that Will Z. was the guy who was consistently just failing to take advantage throughout the round and that he would be forever wondering "what might have been if only...." because he was failing to birdie 17, 3 jacking from 16, etc. Then he made the clutch par putt on 18.

As for JT, I thought he lost his chance when he didn't birdie 17. But he came up with the clutch up and down on playoff hole 1 when Will Z. was already on in 2.

Mito looked like he was going to bring it home then 18. Bummer (why not hit 30 yds left??)

Mito made five bogeys and a double when he opened the round up three shots. I don’t care how nails he was on some up-and-down pars. That’s a brutal final round and proof he was far from ready for the moment. The only surprise was that no one rammed through the door. JT squeaked through it.

Yeah, I think with a two-shot lead he's golden. Had to birdie 17, that was a virtual gimme 3 for the field.

I think I saw a stat that said Thomas makes it nine active guys with multiple majors? I feel like that seems low but also about right?

Going to see if I can figure this out without looking it up, thinking that we're still considering Phil "active."
Tiger, Phil, JT, Rory, Spieth, Koepka, Bubba, DJ ... and I can't think of a ninth.

Apparently it was 10....the ninth is Zach Johnson and they counted Martin Kaymer, who has played three other events this year

I’ll give Rob Oller credit. Not an easy market to go after a legend in. The Ohio State cult is strong.

This lawsuit has gone wild on the interwebs. I wonder if that wouldn't have been the case a few years ago, before Jack became Trumpian. But that plus the Saudi stuff is just too delicious. Plus the headline is bizarre -- "Jack Nicklaus being sued by the Nicklaus Companies." Huh?
