Guess I'm watching too much of these Stanley Cup playoffs because the number of Discover card TV spots have become very annoying.

Every time I see Matthew Stafford saying "It's life-changing" and winking at the camera, I am one step closer to hurling something through my TV.

At least the one variation for Discover is not the aerobics instructor doing exercises that caused me to ponder a groin pull injury every time it aired. Same pulsating music, though, with a quick image of George Washington.

 

There are not many local radio teams I care to listen to anymore for reasons you've stated. Nick Nickson in Los Angeles and John Wiedeman in Chicago are a couple of exceptions.

EDIT: i.e. Jake's post below reminded me not of Discover, but of Bruce Martyn and later Ken Kal calling Red Wings radio on WJR. Unique voices and goal-calls. Many fond memories.

 

It took Discover a few years to quit running the two Asian chicks yelling I got my money!!!
