Devils should do a Wilf Paiement Night. Half price for pretzels or popcorn for anyone who wears a Kansas City Scouts jersey.

I agree with this on the Rangers side, not as much on the Canes side, although both of those you mention definitely did not come through. Canes are more of a team where the whole is better than the sum of the parts, and they can get scoring from a handful of players like Teravainen, Trocheck, Neiderreter and Jarvis as opposed to counting on the top 2 or 3 players to deliver every night.

In the end, I think the series came down to these 3 things:

Canes did a good enough job of generating scoring chances and offensive zone possession time. But, the Rangers were great at getting bodies in front of shots to keep them from getting on goal, and then had an all league goalie behind when they did get through.

The Canes power play was terrible, basically for the same reasons as above. Good amount of time in the Rangers zone, but very few quality chances.

Finally, and probably most importantly, the penalty kill. Canes were #1 in the league in PK in the regular season, but got torched by both the Bruins and the Rangers throughout those series. And it all came to a head last night with the pair in the first period.

The Canes have been playing in Whalers jerseys two or three nights a year, including as their 2020-21 "Reverse Retro" jersey. They do the whole "Brass Bonanza" and everything. They have made a little bank out of the nostalgia, and because it's a great logo.

If you’re gonna pick on the trap, use someone else’s photo.

I'm not picking on it. That approach won 3 Cups.

Is it me or did Mr. Rules Expert on TNT not know the rule until after the ref announced the replay decision?

The Makar goal? It’s a very strange interpretation.

Who is on TNT? Dave Jackson?

It’s a good goal. Makar doesn’t get control until after the player tags up.

I know everybody’s sports childhood was the best in their mind, but growing up with 80s Sportscenter kicked incredible ass.
