If Democrats believe a word out of Susan Collins, they deserve to lose in the midterms.

 

Not getting Collins out was a major miss. Was Maine not polled enough? Did Sara Gideon’s campaign see internal polling that contradicted public numbers and ignored it? Tossing out a Senate incumbent is much easier than tossing out a House incumbent. That seat should’ve flipped. Now we get four and a half more years of her stupidity.

Democrats win Maine and North Carolina, and we’re talking about a much different presidency.

 

I’ve heard that Collins’ ground game couldn’t be beat. Polling was certainly off as well. I think the North Carolina race and the dude who got caught sexting or whatever was a bigger hit.

A significant percentage of Maine voters have psychic sunk cost fallacy issues with Collins. If they see her as she really is, then their own self-image as fiercely independent straight shooters with no regard for party labels is bullshit too.
