Always good for a laugh when the NRO or Fox or the Daily Caller, et al. try to impugn someone else's reporting.

That said, if the WaPo felt the need to issue a correction or a clarification - even one based solely on the word of bad faith clickfarmers like these - I'm sure they'll examine Ms. Lorenz's reporting.

Which, as this thread demonstrates all too well, requires a lot more oversight than it should.

A former co-worker is a cops reporter who’s covered multiple mass shootings, including one of the big ones. She’s dealt with some stuff because of it. I’m a big fan of therapy in general, especially here.

I’ve been out of the game for too long. When did we start referring to sources by their asinine internet handles?

The “when did she ask and when did they respond” drama of this latest thing seems like pretty close to nothing, despite the excitement it worked up among Twitter’s dumber users. Incorrectly attributing a quote to Depp’s lawyer seems like a bigger deal.

Anything from here is really on The Post, not her. She's shown The Post who she is a reporter - distracted and disorganized, like a lot of people who live online (and she does, as part of her job.)

The Post needs a much much better online editing approach for her work. A "hey, look, sorry, but your stuff doesn't go up until we go over every quote and reportage piece" approach for a year, if needed, since I think her shoddiness is just that - and not perniciousness.

People would be surprised (or maybe not) how often online editors just publish stuff without pressing writers the way traditional copy/line editors would have years ago.
