My biggest beef with The Wire is McNulty not wanting to ride the boat. If I was a cop in a city with a harbor, that would be my dream assignment.

 

"Why always Boris?" is one of the great lines in TV history.

 

Still cracks me up when Bunk burns his clothes in his hookup's bathroom. McNulty asks, "Bunk, why are you burning your clothes?" Bunk says, "They smell like pussy."

 

The Wire seems funny until you watch "We Own This City.'.
Finally reducing things to personal corruption rather than a general institutional failure changes things.
