Yeah, those fuckin’ analytics guys and their insistence that a 12 game losing streak is a negative thing.

At some point the smartest guy in the room may want to acknowledge that a historic level of failure is grounds for dismissal, analytics or not.

Angels lose again. Too soon for the #FirePhil campaign?

Ninth and 10th innings, runner on second, no outs. Three outs later, runner still on second. That's a significant Angels problem.

The Mets, perpetually awful in the clutch, hired a bunch of actual baseball guys to run their major league team (including seemingly annual Angels managerial candidate Eric Chavez as hitting coach) and are hitting better than they've ever hit in the clutch. Maybe the super geniuses in the front office aren't actually all that smart.

Well, the analytics guys decided Andrew Velazquez should be the shortstop.

    That’s always a sustainable model.

And it's crazy how often Velaquez seems to come up in clutch situations. I think there were three consecutive games last week when he made the final out with runners on base.

Aren't these the same guys who signed David Fletcher to a long-term contract?

He is the Myles Straw of infielders.

Yep. I posted something similar last week, somewhere. (great minds.)

What part? Hiring people who have actually done the tasks they are teaching?

Are you really going to go down the analytics debate. Every single team uses them, it is not a debate. And the Mets might have the biggest analytics department in the game.

Clutch hitting might be the most volatile year to year stat there is. But sure, the Mets are shoving it up those nerds ass.
