Bryson, Reed and DJ are exactly what I'd expect an upstart to get, dudes who were "big names" but are on the downward trajectory. Bryson is youngish, but look at his performances over the last 2 years and his injury history coupled with the body changes. That's what appears to be the classic "whoops got too big too fast" case. Have we ever seen someone in any sport recover from that? I can't recall one.

The Tour is loaded with young studs right now, JT, Morikawa, Rahm, Spieth, Rory, Hovland, Wolff, Scheffler, even Riley, Cam Young, Sam Burns guys are out-playing the defectors. The LIV looks like the USFL playing in Birmingham with Kiick, Csonka and Warfield playing behind the semi-pro lineman. Now if that changes and Gene Upshaw and Art Shell start defecting....

If the LIV adds the "action point," I'm all in. (And that was the WFL. But forget it, he's rolling ...)

I wouldn't bet against one of those guys leaving, too. Not saying I'd bet on it, but I wouldn't bet against anything at the moment.

This is going to sound like some serious pollyanna shit, but the LIV guys tomorrow might actually look like they're having fun. Of course, of course, you put $50 million in my wallet before the first tee shot and I'll be your huckleberry and have the time of my life. But don't underestimate the fact that some of older guys may also be just tired of grinding all the time in the "ultimate meritocracy" PGA Tour, and the younger guys in turn look at them and wonder if they really want that life.

Huh. We found the guy who buys all those t-shirts made for baby boomers telling us how awesome and uninhibited they are.

Maybe it's just me, but I have no desire to watch team golf outside of the Ryder Cup.

I get it on that level - I have no doubt the PGA Tour is calling in all its favors on this. But at some point, with more and more players joining the LIV tour - you wonder how many more players will the LIV Tour seem "legit." I think the better card to play is have all the local charities that benefited (aka volunteered for a donation) at various local tour stops talk about the impact it will have on their charities.

The team purse at each event is $5 million (top three teams get $3 million/$1.5 million/$500k), counting two best balls in the first two rounds and three balls in the third round. And they're four-man teams, meaning one guy could play like complete garbage yet be on the right squad and pocket $750,000. In addition to the individual purse, which again is a minimum of $120,000. So maybe one of these no-names from Thailand shoots 88 and takes home $870,000. This is going to drive PGA Tour rank-and-file batshit crazy and straight to Greg Norman's cellphone.

Ignorami is also a great word for the woke (to use).

I think it is and that it's a fun tournament to watch. To each his own.

    I can argue with it:
    1. Nine of the 10 players on the current world golf rankings are 30 or under.
    2. Spieth. Thomas. Scheffler. Hovland. Matsuyama. Kopeka. Rahm, McIlroy. Cam Smith. Cantlay. Schauffele. Horschel. Burns. Morikawa. Hovland. Zalatoris. Niemann. Ancer. How many more young stars do you need to get your interest?
    3. What about women's golf? Oh, yeah ... the Saudis probably aren't interested.
    4. And the format is the format. Over decades, 72 holes of stroke play is the tried and true format for determining a worthy champion each week. Is there a move to change MLB to 7 innings? NBA or MNF to three quarters?
